If you are or were a Google+ user, you must have received an email informing you about the shutting down of the platform. The announcement came in December 2018 but there was no official till now.

The official date is set for 2nd April 2019 giving the users around two months for retrieving all their data from their personal profiles or pages. This data can be anything from photos, videos to any other content. So, download or save your content before April.

Google+ Is Closed From 2nd April, 2019

The email explains:

“On April 2nd, your Google+ account and any Google+ pages you created will be shut down and we will begin deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts.”

The reason behind this shutdown was already given back in December when the announcement was made. Low usage and failing to meet consumers’ expectations were cited as the major reasons. You also cannot create new Google+ pages, communities or events from 4th of February.
